Swedish
The Swedish massage is bodywork that is specifically designed to relax muscles and promote a sense of well being. By applying medium to light pressure to muscles, and rubbing concurrently with the circulation towards the heart, Swedish massage purposefully enhances oxygen flow in blood and helps to remove toxins in the muscles.
Deep-Tissue
A variety of firm massage techniques relieves chronic patterns of tension, muscle spasms, and fatigue within the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Slow strokes and deep pressure alleviate localized congestion and inflammation. Enjoy the beneficial muscular releases you'll experience long after your stay.
Pre-Natal
Pregnancy and birth is a time of new beginnings and the way women experience it sets a pattern not only for their health and the rest of their lives but also that of their children. It is really important for a woman to feel connected to her body and baby, or else she may experience a difficult pregnancy, birth and perhaps suffer from post-natal depression and have trouble bonding with her child. If a woman is connected to her body, then the chances are she will experience the pregnancy as a great time in her life and be stronger for it. Even if she has difficulties, or uses technology, she will still feel much stronger physically and emotionally to endure the whole process, massage has extremely powerful tools to support this process.
- Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts during pregnancy, such as backaches, a stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, edema, and sore, swollen ankles and feet.
- Massage increases local and general blood circulation, which brings more oxygen and nutrients to the cells of both the mother and fetus. This means greater vitality and less fatigue for mother and better nourishment for her baby.
- Massage can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes is experiencing.
- Massage helps nervous tension, which helps the mother sleep more easily and more deeply.
- Massage can be used during the birth to make it easier and more comfortable for the labor.
How many treatments should I have?
You can start having massage treatments in your second trimester, depending on how you feel or if you were already receiving massage treatments. It is then important to have regular treatments throughout the pregnancy and post-natal, ranging from weekly to monthly. Your therapist will advise you accordingly.
